This track starts from the Wellington's neighbourhood of Brooklyn and visits the Wind turbine, Hawkins Hill (495 m) and continues further all the way to Te Kopahou (485 m).
You can park your car on the street Ashton Fitchett Drive, at the very beginning of the Hawkins Hill Road. From here, instead of following Hawkins Hill Road you take the fence line track. This track goes along the fence built to protect wildlife as part of Zealandia ecosanctuary.
In about 1.5 kilometres following this track you get to the Brooklyn wind turbine. From here you continue on the track for another kilometre or so where you join back to Hawkins Hill Road.
Following Hawkins Hill Road for about 1.8 Km you get to Woofington Castle. This place was once a luxury hotel for dogs. From here it's only 600 more meters to the Hawkins Hill summit. There is a radar dome on this summit, and also nice views of the surroundings.
After taking some pictures we continue on the road and a couple more kilometres later you reach the second summit of the day, Te Kopahou. Important to mention that about 50 metres from the highest spot on this summit there is a gate that prevents public access. It looks like this summit is on private land and the owner does not want people to get to it. There are even security cameras installed next to the gate.
From here the Hawkins Hill Road starts going down, I believe all the way to the beach, so we decided to turn around and follow the same road and track back to the car.
