The hike starts at Bush Creek Recreation Reserve in Arrowtown. There is plenty of parking space and also toilet facilities available.
This is a fairly long walk that goes up three mountains: Brow Peak (1456 m), Big Hill (1137 m) and German Hill (780 m).
The first kilometre is easy and mostly flat and then we have about 5 Km of steep climb until we reach the top of Brow Peak. When going up it looks like the ridge that leads to the summit is going to be difficult and exposed but once you get there you find out it's not. Maybe it's just a bit steeper. From the summit of Brow Peak there are fantastic views in all directions.
We continue our walk by going down the same way as we came up until we reach the saddle (marked with a waypoint called saddle). From here we follow the ridge down until we get to the bottom of our second summit for the day, Big Hill. 400 more meters of easy walking up and we reach the summit of Big Hill.
From this point is all down with the exception of another 400 easy meters to go up German Hill.
