Easy walk following different tracks in the Belmont Regional Park, making a nice loop which can be done clockwise or counterclockwise indistinctly.
The loop starts from the convenient car park on Maungaraki Road, where there are even some toilets available. It follows the Otonga track, the Korokoro Stream track and also the Ridge track.
The hike starts going down to the Korokoro stream and then slowly ascends all the way to the Belmont summit, where there is a trig point. The views from the summit are quite nice. You can clearly see the Hutt Valley and the Wellington Harbour area.
Once thing to notice is that when you are down near the Korokoro stream sometimes the GPS reception is not the best.
I found quite a few people walking in this area, some walking the dogs and some also running.
